We Are All Needed

Have you ever noticed how much better things go when you have a little help? We were helping our youngest daughter, Gabby, fix up some things in her condominium. Denise and Gabby were running to stores to buy stuff. I was back at the condominium trying to install things on my own. To be honest – there is one towel rack in the bathroom that is up – but the left side is about ½ inch lower than the right side. It’s hard to hold the level and the fixture and the screwdriver and screw all at the same time.

When they got back, Gabby was there to help me. And in that time, we motored our way through about 10 things on the to do list. It is amazing when you have someone who can hold up one end or hand you another screw after you’ve dropped one three times... how much easier, and better., and quicker (and more level) everything becomes.
We were not meant to do faith alone. We were not meant to do church alone. The church is not a building we gather at. The church is group of people we meet with, serve with, learn with, worship with, and celebrate life with. Each of those stages take people willing to give of themselves to make that happen.
While it may seem like everything at church runs smoothly, let me assure you, we need volunteers to help in every area of the church right now. We are all needed. Everyone. It is not leaders (though we are searching for elders and deacons now), it is in areas of service. We need people who can come alongside those who are serving to share the responsibility. To help make sure it all gets assembled level and attached well. If you are not volunteering, God has a place for you here. And we would love to help you find a way to volunteer your gifts and abilities to help us be the church God has called us to be. When God envisioned the church – he saw you in it. Not just in the fourth row, second from the left, but he saw you contributing time and your gifts to help make his church shine.
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So, it is with the body of Christ….
…All of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it.
1 Corinthians 12:12 & 27
